Last year Paul purchased a set of binoculars from Aldi for £12.99, which proved to be a good buy - I think they have Swiss or German lenses. Similar ones are for sale again from Thursday.

More info at www.aldi.co.uk. Click on Thursday 25 Oct special offers.

I bought a pair - at £12.99 you could hardly go wrong! They have 60mm objectives and have a zoom feature 10x to 30x. They have a 3 year warranty too. I'm no expert but they seem ridiculously cheap for what they are. As of this afternoon Aldi Kirkcaldy store still had some left!
