After nighthawks question about talking images using a digital camera i decided to post a couple of images i took last year using an etx 90 & 25mm eyepiece with a nikon 3.1 megapixel compact digi camera. Will let you see what you can be achieved using a basic digital camera.

Hi George

Not too bad at all! very similar to results I got with meade LPI on my ETX90 when I had them.

I'm just waiting to see what I can get from my Astronimiser CCD cam but I think it will be palnetary only unless I can rig some sort of drive for the Dob mount.

I have seen a guy on ebay in USA who will make a custom Lattitude motorised board to sit DOB on and it will
track object.

Caveat is £200 plus so maybe I will try to build one myself hahaha.

regards
Geoff

These are great images, AG - I've had similar success with a 5mp compact digi camera, used at the eyepiece (25mm or 9mm) of a Meade ETX70AT.

HI Geoff,
What you need for your 12" skyliner is a good goto eq mount like the skywatcher heq5 synscan or if you can afford it the eq6 synscan.

Hi George

I think this might be too big and heavy for HeQ5 I rather like the Dob mount now.
But I would be interested in the Lat board for the Dob mount do you know of anywhere in uk doing them?
Geoff
