Press releases have been sent to:

    Dalgety Bay Diary
    Dunfermline Press
    Fife Free Press

The Diary have printed a mention in the Dec06/Jan07 issue, although it hasn't reached everyone yet (mine is still to arrive). So far, we've had 3 enquiries and 2 registrations: "NightHawk" and "orphan of the sky". Welcome aboard, chaps.

The DP and FFP notices were sent more recently, but might make it into the next issues.

There was a card up in Tesco for a while, but nobody saw it. Not one. I guess people don't think about astronomy when they're buying pizza and beer.

I also tried to get us listed on the http://www.dalgetybay.org.uk site, but they're going through a revamp just now, so I might have to try again once things have settled down there. (The WebRing thing at the bottom of every page isn't entirely hooked up yet either, but I'll chase it again after a decent interval.)

On the positive side, we have Google Alerts to thank for the enlistment of "piemanius" - hello to you.

Finally, for now, we have a listing on the Sky at Night Magazine website at
http://www.skyatnightmagazine.com...p?county=Scotland&countyID=53

While writing this, the Fife & Kinross Extra has arrived here at Admin House. Maybe I'll drop them a line, too. Oh, according to the front page, alcohol can impair your night vision by up to 25%. I know for a fact it can make the correct operation of a motorized German equatorial mount harder than it was already - so let that be a lesson to you.

A photographer from the DP turned up today to capture my Clooneyesque fizzog for the paper. I don't know which issue it'll be in (if they print it at all), but my guess is Thursday 21st December.

I've asked them to list this website, and if they do we should get some new members.

I'll post again when I know more.

The Wizard of Admin.

We're not in DP this week, and I got a phone call today to say it likely won't be next week either. Early January looks likely.

I told my colleague the photographer had been round and he asked if it was the first time I'd had my picture taken for a newspaper.
"Second" I responded.
"Aye, but the first time without a blanket over your head?"

I'm not speaking to him now.
