There are two solar eclipses predicted for 2007, on March 19th and September 11th, but unfortunately neither of them will be visible from here.
March 19, Partial, East Asia and Alaska.
Visibility map
September 11, Partial, South America, Antarctic, South Atlantic.

PAUL
very nice detail on the forthcoming particial eclipes , i was fortunate
enough to see saros 139 in turkey this year , the next total will not
until aug 1st 2008 but we will be able to see around 40per
coverage of the sun here which in itself is quite spectacular.

Here's a picture of my own from the eclipse of 29th March 2006, taken with an ordinary digital camera with Baader Astro solar film filter from my back garden here in DB.

It's quite tricky posting images on here for the first time.
My friend, Mr Admin of Admin Towers has put a posting on the Technical thread explaining how to do it. |

Visibility map's, I understand the dates and that's about it!
Great photo Paul. The 29th of March, was this the partial eclipse of the sun?
If I remember correctly I glanced through my oakley sunglasses at this event.
Bad of me I know. I couldn't resist. Very clear for the split seconds. _________________ Telescope: ETX 80 AT-TC (Compact 80mm) by Meade

Yeah
this was a partial eclipse here , but if you were in the moons shadow
i.e. the umbra (in another part of the world) it would have been
total . if you want to have a good look at the sun (safely)in the near
future then give me a shout.
