Mercury: don't miss it!

Hi everyone -

just a reminder that Mercury is at its best over the next couple of days, in west(ish) just after sunset - around -0.5 mag.

Helpfully, Venus is reasonably close by - Mercury is below Venus, to the right (sorry this isn't very technical!).

I picked it up very easily on Saturday evening - at about the 4 o'clock postion to Venus (separatation of about three fingers width, holding your hand at arm's length).

Have just seen Mercury today for the first time Very Happy
Unfortunately I only had binoculars with me, I would love to see it through my telescope.

Have looked at both Venus and Mercury but cant for life of me get my scopes to show decent views.. get horrible spiky flickery objects not planet like objects.....

are these two tricky.... ?

Did wander around venus and spotted very faint blue object... doh! ... uranus ya beauty.
