My Philips Toucam Pro 2 lense is damaged. Does anyone not use their lense and would like to sell it?
Or does anyone know of a parts supplier? Philips are unable to help me.
Kind regards

I have a spare webcam lens I could give you.
It's not from a Toucam, but most webcams have a standard thread, so the chances are quite good that it would fit.
You could send me your address in a private message, or I'll bring it along to the Bay Inn on the 9th.

What Generous individuals!
I’m unfortunately unable to attend the meeting :'(
I would love to see the full potential of the Toucam 2. My lens arrived damaged (2nd hand webcam).

P, Thank you very much for your offer of the lens.
BWH, I have sent you a private forum message regarding your spare Toucam lens and if you would be able to sell the item to me for a fee.
Many thanks. _________________ Telescope: ETX 80 AT-TC (Compact 80mm) by Meade

You dont tend to need the lens for astrophotography...
In general this gets replaced with a duralex part which screws into lens and then is 1.25 " and thus fits into eyepiece on scope
this allows your toucam to act as a 4mm lens in your scope.
This is a bit high, i have a focal reducer to make toucam act as a 8mm lens (more focus train) - but smaller image
I think you can you lens with and eyepiece (afocal method.. ?) but the additional glass interface between chip and your scope (with 1st method 0, with afocal 5-7 depending on eyepiece) usually means big issues.
will arrange meet on wednesday.
ps: i am still learning about toucam, i use k3ccd (v1.1 is free) and VDM mode (near instantanoeous focus) not VFM (200ms delay in focal grrrr - spent last 6 months using this).
will post more details on the inital settings for toucam ... when i understand them ,,,
regards
